1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember your actions and preferences (language, basket, sign-in details) or measure its audience.
Similar technologies also count as cookies under the CNIL's decision no. 2020-091: localStorage, sessionStorage, device identifiers, tracking pixels and digital fingerprints.
2. Categories used
Following the CNIL, we distinguish 4 categories of cookies:
- Essential — required for the service to work (authentication, storing your cookie preferences, displaying maps). Exempt from consent.
- Analytics — anonymised audience measurement and error detection (PostHog). Subject to your consent.
- Marketing — ad personalisation and campaign measurement. Not used at present, but ready for future partnerships. Subject to your consent.
- Personalisation — tailoring content to your preferences (event recommendations). Subject to your consent.

- Consent cookies: 13 months maximum (strict CNIL). After that we ask for your choice again.

- Analytics cookies: 12 months maximum.
- Technical error data (PostHog): 12 months maximum.
7. Third-party cookies
